Month 5; ELF Eyebrow Kit

Hello Everyone!

It's month 5 of my 12 products, 12 months!
I know I'm a little late with this post but being in Australia means shipping often takes much longer. However, I recently received my ELF eyebrow kit in the mail and I was so excited!

I find it super hard to find a brow colour that is light enough for my colouring - I'm extremely blonde and pale - so I ordered the lightest colour they had. Ash.

The packaging is quite basic which I rather like. Open it up and all you see is the product, the brush and a small mirror. It's ideal if you're on the go!

Although it is very light it is still too dark for my face so I was so sad. Other than that I couldn't find anything wrong with this product! It applied easily, even with just the brush provided, and lasts for quite a while.

I was quite impressed as I only spent $13. If you're looking for a reasonably priced brow kit this may be the one for you. Unfortunately it's just too dark for me. Well done ELF, I'll be back (just maybe not for my brows)!
If you know any good brow kits for blonde hair I would really appreciate it.

Month 4; Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream

Hello Everyone!

This being the third month of my 12 products 12 months of reviews, I've done this one earlier rather than later as I haven't made a blog post in over 2 weeks. I've not been busy or anything interesting, to be honest I just haven't had anything worth talking about up until now..

I purchased Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream last month and I use a lot more than I thought I would!

The packaging is quite basic, a metal tin and a lid you just pull on and off.

It has the strongest lemon smell out of any product I've ever used. It's quite fresh.

I like to use this when I have no nail polish on, on and around my nails. Then also once I have nail polish on just around my cuticles. It's very moisturizing and not oily at all (that was a concern of mine). I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you have hands that tend to be dry. I also like the fact that it is cruelty free and 100% natural. I'm not usually the type of person who looks for 100% natural ingredients but it's nice to see that every now and again.

I've been a huge Burt's Bees fan ever since I purchased their lip balm. I was super excited about this purchase and it didn't disappoint! If you're thinking about getting the cuticle cream I say go for it, a little bit goes a long way and you get a lot of product for a reasonable price!

AUS: $14.95
UK: £5.99
USA: $6

There isn't much else to say really. I can feel a difference in nails after only a month and I'm so pleased! If you have any opinions on this product let me know in the comments below.
Thank you so much for reading my blog!

Month 3 - Maybelline Color Tattoo

Hello Everyone!

It's month 3 and I finally purchased Maybelline's Color Tattoo - I could not be more excited to tell you about it!

I decided on Bold Gold as there wasn't much of a selection to choose from and I actually really love gold at the moment, it was a bit of a win-win situation.

My camera decided to not focus on the lid at all - ever. I'm sorry

I was a little dissappointed with the packaging. It has a similar style to a MAC paintpot but not as good quality. The lid actually broke while it was still in its original plastic. I was so sad when I opened it up and a piece of the lid fell to the floor.

Obviously though, this didn't affect the product itself. I was so glad the top didn't break also or it would have dried out and I would have cried.

It is a very glittery gold and I find myself having to wash my face a few extra times after wearing it just to make sure my face is glitter free.

As I used my finger it applied quite thick and looks rather scary at first...

but it blends out so well none of that even matters!

Overall my only complaints are the lid and if not used frequently it seems to be a little on the dry side. Then again that may be due to my broken lid. I have no real issues with it and it is a beautiful product that can be used for a dramatic look or a simple everyday look. Well done Maybelline!

Prices for my top 3 countries
UK: £4.99
USA: $5.95
AUSTRALIA: $11.95

Thank you so much for reading my blog! What do you think of Maybelline's Color Tattoo?
Worth the hype or overrated?

Month 2; Revlon Lip Butter

Hello Everyone!

It's March and I haven't even made my month 2 post for my 12 products, 12 months post! Considering it was meant to be up at the end of February I think it's about time I spoke about my second product! Sorry it took so long but here we go!
At the end of January I purchased 2 of Revlon's Lip Butter and I'm so excited to tell you about them!

I opted for a nude and a bright colour and I ended up deciding on Creme Brulee and Tutti Frutti.

CREME BRULEE
Creme Brulee is a very nude colour. It has no pinky or orangey undertones so, with lip liner, anyone can wear it!

TUTTI FRUTTI
If you like orange, like I do, this colour is amazing! You can build it up to be a true bright orange or put it on lightly and it just brightens up the face!

What I loved most about these lip sticks (I'll call them lip sticks although I'm not too sure they are) is the consistency! It's almost like putting on lip balm. It's hydrating but it is so highly pigmented you'd swear it's too good to be true!

If, like a lot of people I know, you don't like much shine to your lips then this may not be the product for you. If you only put on a light layer it won't give off too much of a shine but it's definitely got potential to be super glossy!

The packaging is also super cute. Usually lip products have a boring tube but revlon have gone to the effort of putting a diamond design on the lids. Although this has nothing to do with the product itself I thought I'd add it in here just because I get excited by little things like this.

I find with a lot of lip products they often taste awful, but with the Lip Butters I was pleasantly surprised! It's not so good that I find myself licking my lips but it's good to the point of being able to accidentally lick your lips and not wanting to spit on the ground. I guess that's a positive thing!

If you're thinking of buying a Lip Butter I say just go for it! I can't really say a bad word about it, maybe I'd like for it to last a little longer but it's easy enough to just throw it in your bag and reapply on the go! I think this is a great value for money product. Well done Revlon!

Prices for my most popular audience
UK: £7.99
AUSTRALIA:
$21.95
USA: $6.50

What is your opinion on Revlon's Lip Butter? Is it worth the hype or do you have a different product you just adore? I love all your opinions and feedback! So, thank you so much for reading my blog!

Sorry about how awful I look in the photos, I have had a bad case of the flu and I'm still not 100%.. Thought I'd just explain my poor appearance. X

Maybelline New York eyestudio; gel eyeliner review

I recently bought a high end brand's eyeliner and it was absolute rubbish! I won't name the brand because I don't want to give negative reviews, but I feel like this just proves you don't need to spend a large amount to get good result. I seem to be constantly trying new eyeliners but I do have a few favourites. Maybelline New York's gel eyeliner being one of them.

Obviously with the glass jar and plastic lid it is quite durable! This means you can literally throw it into your bag if you're in a hurry - which I've actually done a number of times

When I first got this eyeliner I only got Blackest Black. After I tried it I fell in love and went on and got Brown. Although I personally don't use Brown that frequently if I do decide to use brown eyeliner this is the one I use.

I have also swatched both for you using different thicknesses.

For all the swatches I used the brush that comes with the set.

I also think that, considering they came free with the product, the brushes are quite decent. You can purchase better brushes in stores but I think you could hold off and use these.

I, again, looked up the prices for the top 3 places that I have readers.

UK: £4.99
AUSTRALIA:
$14.99

USA:
$9.99

Overall this gel liner is comparable to that of a high end product. It apply's easily, doesn't dry out and is smooth.  It also last for hours, no smudging. The brush was also a lovely surprise! I had low expectations but I gave it a go and I was happily proven wrong with its quality. So, if you are interested in trying gel liner for the first time or even adding to your collection I would highly reccommend the Maybelline New York gel liner!

Thank you so much for reading my blog! Tell me below if there is anything you want reviewed or just something you want me to talk about, I'll see what I can do!

Chi Chi nudes palette; Review

Hello Everyone!

For the longest time I have wanted to purchase the Urban Decay Naked palette. Except, in Australia, in order to get the Urban Decay palette it will cost you between $55-$70 (not including shipping). As I just graduated from high school you can probably imagine this is not in my budget right now..

Then, just before Christmas, I discovered the Chi Chi nudes palette and on Boxing Day I picked one up for only $15 at Target! I don't know if you've seen the Chi Chi Palette so I have put the Chi Chi palette and the Urban Decay palette side by side..

The similarity is crazy! So, I decided to review the Chi Chi Nudes palette for you so maybe you too can save a bit of money!

Firstly, the packaging is nothing special. Plastic and nothing much to it really.

I have also swatched each individual colour with both flash and no flash.

FIRST 6 COLOURS
NO FLASH

FLASH

SECOND 6 COLOURS
NO FLASH

FLASH

As you can see in the pictures above, some colours have a higher pigmentation then others. The pigmentation was actually quite a pleasant surprise for me, the lighter colours do seem a little on the sheer side but the darker colours are impressive! Obviously though, the lighter colours can be built up to increase intensity. As for consistency it does seem a little chalkier than some of the higher end brands but you get what you pay for I guess! (I didn't use any base for this, this would really help depending on the effect you are after.)

Overall, I think that for only $15 the end results are pretty good! I would definitely recommend this palette if, like me, you are wanting the Urban Decay Naked palette but your budget just won't allow it!

This is my first review and I would so love to hear what you think! Tell me in the comments below?
